Hollywood Park Race Track - November 1, 2008

Race 4 Picks: Zetterberg. Professnl Courtesy is a strong contender, but draws the rail (though there is no one better than Rafael Bejarano), and may need a race. Zetterberg has a great trainer in Dollase, and Flores should keep him in the clear.

Race 5 Picks: Trainspotting is the pick. Babs Moosa looks formidable but GHR Numbers indicate they are pretty close to one another, and Babs Moosa will probably be bet down too low. Would recommend exacta with Babs Moosa over Trainspotting as well.

Race 6 Picks: Alpine Nugget. Last was impressive in terms of GHR Numbers, and is in capable hands with Ron Ellis, which is one thing to distinguish him from Michael's Notes, whom I think is the main threat. Bob Hess is decent, but its hard to know based on the last race if he is 100% fit. The 8/13/08 race was nice, but note he set a pedestrian pace that day, about 6 lengths slower than the average for that distance, whereas Alpine Nugget in his last pressed a pace about 1 length faster than average.

Race 7 Picks: No "official" pick will be given, however, A Song at Twilight might be a big longshot play. Perhaps didn't like Fairplex and did break through the gate once there, and in her last at Oak Tree, she set a pace about 2-3 lengths faster than the average, so its possible she could steal it as there is no speed to her right.

Race 9 Picks: Valiant Effort. However, this one is kind of wide open in that Exceeding's GHR Numbers are almost as good. I'll say Valiant Efforts last was an aberration and will beat Exceeding 2/3 times. There are som X factors here as well. Nikki'sgoldensteed has the class, outfinishing Swaps winner Tres Borrachos at Bay Meadows, and then of course the Frankel/Gomez horse at the rail looks good and is a second X factor.
