Hollywood Park Race Track - November 8, 2008

Race 2 Pick(s): Media Man. This horse is 5-1 on the ML, but based on our GHR Number, the 81 beyer received at Fairplex park on 9/12/08 is understated by at least 4 points. The problem is that form on dirt tracks do not always translate perfectly to synthetic track. The last race can be excused as he will appreciate the cutback in distance - he held on well, but the distance looks to have gotten to him. I do prefer this one to Superfecta who is the 2-1 ML even if they end up being the same price. You Is What You Is I think is being overestimated at 5-2 ML. Media Man is the pick.

Race 4 Pick(s): Litsgoodlookinggray. This appears to be a close race between this one and Partywithlarryz. They are pretty close. In fact their last effort (finished right together) is a few lengths better than Onetimeatbandcamp, who I stand against. Would recommend an exacta with Partywithlarryz as his trainer Sadler is a little sharper than Carava who trains Litsgoodlookinggray.

Race 5 Pick(s): Stately Appeal. This one and Time to Say Goodbye are very close in ability, however I give the edge to Stately Appeal because the trainer is more capable and Time to Say Goodbye's last race was a subpar race compared to what he usually does, which makes me wonder if he could be going off form?

Race 6 Pick(s): Marenostrum. Todd Schrupp of TVG Network would say I am being captain obvious here, but I am going with the favorite - I think this one may be a couple lengths the best and gets Frankel and Gomez, you couldn't ask for better connections. A must use in the exotics.

Race 8 Pick(s): Colonel Courtney, Indian Weaver. I will pick two here. Colonel Courtney shows the best GHR Number recently but that was at Fairplex and this is Hollywood Park. Indian Weaver at 6-1 I think can get the job done here. 16K claiming is the right level for him. He finished second to Go Flags Bro on 9/26 who came back to win a 20,000 claiming race on 10/18 by 1 1/4 lengths. Indian Weaver's last race wasn't his strongest, but if he can return to the form he displayed on 9/26, he is very dangerous.
