Hollywood Park April 25, 2009 - California Gold Rush Day

Race 1: Gambler's Justice She is very close in ability to the ML favorites Lady Railrider and Waveline, but are likely to get a much better price if she goes off near her 6-1 ML odds. Golden Doc A is to be feared also but the price is too low.

Race 4: The Firebird Although I do like Buck's Bro and Russian Liquor alot, at 20-1 ML, The Firebird might be the value here. You might want to play this one, but also include him underneath in your exotics.

Race 5: Freebiehadthemoves Another longshot that will probably get no respect, but her Fairplex win and her win last spring at Hollywood Park are good enough to win this. The last was not quite strong enough to beat Ciccina, North Rodeo, and Ale's Pride, but this is her second off the long layoff and could take that step forward. Ale's Pride is a bit inconsistent, but if she runs back to her Feb 8 race, she will be very tough also.

Race 6: Beltene The ML favorite, but deservedly so. She is the best in terms of her GHR Speed Figures. Spanish Ice never seems to get much respect but she and Ten Churros are about equal in ability and I prefer that pair over 4-1ML Yodeladytoo.

Race 7: Italian Rules, Stella Mark Going with two here. Italian Rules has to stretch out but looks like he might handle it, and I like him better than Star Nicholas who is a lower ML odds. Stella Mark beat Medzendeekron who is the favorite in the TVG Khaled on turf which immediately follows this race.

Race 9: Feisty Suances, Unbridled Roman Exacta BOX This pair will be the lowest possible exacta payoff but they seem to be several lengths ahead of everyone else.
