Race 7 Pick: All Man. According to my GHR Number speed figures, this horse ran the fastest last race of any horse in the field. Once upon a time, he even beat Breeders Cup Mile champion Albertus Maximus sprinting by 2 3/4 lengths. He beat Ramsgate by 5 1/2 lengths (who finished 3rd on 10/8) and who just won his last race beating the likes of Wheaton Hall who is about a 90 beyer speed figure type. According to my GHR Number, the 97 that All Man got in his last race on 10/8 should be closer to 100. He has an excellent trainer in Canani and should be able to get a clear run given his post position draw. Informed is 3-1 on the ML, but I think this one isn't quite fast enough. Star Nicholas ran a great race on 8/24 according to GHR Numbers, a better race in fact than his last which is what concerns me. Talk of a Cat is getting ML respect because of Garret Gomez and Todd Pletcher, his numbers aren't good enough to win. He is lightly raced and might be able to step it up, but I want to see him perform well in Southern California first.
