Race 6 Pick: Its in God's Hands. Despite the step up in class from the Md22500 level, based on GHR Number speed figures, he is a couple lengths the best. He was able to set a slightly slower than average pace last time out on November 14th, but came home in an excellent 12 and 1/5 seconds. Whenever you see a horse pull away by many lengths in the stretch, its a good sign (as opposed to having a large lead and maintaining it). He has a good trainer in Peter Miller and Tyler Baze is riding well. Tyler should send him from the rail. I'm not going to get cute by giving out an Exacta like I did yesterday, in which I got the winner, but not the second place finisher. Its in God's Hands is 6-1 on the Morning Line, but will be a bit lower I bet.
Race 9 Pick (the Hollywood Derby G1) : Court Vision. I am going to stand against the Oak Tree Derby trio of Dixie Chatter, Muny, and Madeo, especially since it was such a blanket finish. Midships is an X Factor coming from Newmarket. Gio Ponti looks good too but Court Vision finished a nose behind Gio Ponti after steadying but beat that one next time by 3/4 lengths when Court Vision avoided trouble. Ramon Dominguez pilots Court Vision and will probably keep him out of trouble. Albahri and Midships look to be about equal in terms of their European ability so proceed with caution on this pick if you like either of those two. Todd Pletcher and John Velasquez look interesting on Cowboy Cal.
