Race 3 Pick: Gato Go Win.

This horse actually looks like one to watch on the 2009 Kentucky Derby trail. He is the 5-2 ML second choice behind Dream of Kaylee who is 8-5. Both horses earned a 91 Beyer Speed Figure for their last race, but according to GHR Speed Figures, Gato Go Win's prior effort is at least a couple lengths better than Dream of Kaylee's. The only issue with Dream of Kaylee is that his last race was October 26, 2008, which has proved to be a bit of a mystery, because GHR Speed Figures shows that it is possible the track was playing quite a bit faster earlier in the day than later. But even adjusting for a possible slower track that Dream of Kaylee was running over, our calculations still give Gato Go Win the edge. Not sure why Position A is 3-1 on the ML given that Gato Go Win beat that one by 3 1/4 last time. For the exacta, the value underneath could be Leedstheway.
