April 19, 2008 - race 7 - Santa Anita Race TrackSan Simeon Soul City Slew – he practically holds the course record over this downhill turf course, running 111.22 back on 2/16/07. He has been a bit inconsistent in his subsequent starts on the downhill turf, but he seems to be in good form having recently knocked heads with Gregs Gold and Surf Cat and his last race indicates he is as good a form as he ever was. He is 10-1 on the ML. I can’t account for the inconsistent efforts but race on 2/16/07wins this. Carrilero – if he is anywhere near his 20-1 ML, take it. His 9/29/07 race over this course was an outstanding effort and he flew by some pretty good down the hill horses. He ran a very fast final 1/16 of a mile that day. Win on Soul City Slew
