Will Manning Achieve Two Super Bowl Wins and Go Down as the All Time Greatest?
Feb 2, 2010 If Peyton Manning can lead the Colts to victory and get two Super Bowl Wins I think he will go down as the greatest quarterback ever. And before the injury of Dwight Freeney, I would've said that the Colts were a lock. Now that Freeney is questionable for the game, I will give the New Orleans Saints a 10-15% better chance than before. Drew Brees has pinpoint accuracy and without Freeney, he won't have as much pressure on him and will be more effective. Now Robert Mathis will get the double team that is usually put on Freeney which will give Brees more time to throw the ball. One thing is certain, and that is if the Saints fall behind early, they will lose. They won't be able to catch up - not against the Colts. Its like a Ferrari trying to catch up to a Lamborghini after falling behind in a race - the Ferrari may make up alot of ground, but the Lamborghini is still motoring along too. But if the Saints can keep it close into the fourth quarter, anything can happen. Both teams are deserving as they are both the #1 seeded teams within their conference. This is likely to be a high scoring game. I don't think Peyton Manning will be denied this time. He is a master of reading the opposing teams defense. Even Denver cornerback Champ Bailey noted that you can't fool him, and if you do fool him once, he won't get fooled again. And the 4 time MVP knows exactly when to get rid of the ball, he knows what he's going to do in every situation. And if the Saints had trouble containing a 40-year old Brett Farve, how are they going to contain Manning? Still, the pressure is on, and he knows he has to get two Super Bowl wins in order to be considered the greatest of all time.
